E-commerce Design Program

Decorator Coaching is a virtual design service that allows you to achieve a professionally designed space from Design Scheme Interiors, LLC even if you are located outside the Maryland, DC, Virginia tri-state area. We will work with you to create a design plan that reflects your lifestyle and budget. Decorator Coaching service is perfect for people who:

• Live outside the Maryland, DC, and Virginia Tri-state area.
• Have always wanted to hire an Interior Designer but thought it was too costly
• Do not require Design Scheme Interiors, LLC full design services
• Are comfortable with executing a decorating project on their own
• Only need assistance with pulling a space together
• Would like to have a design plan, but want to choose how much—or how little— to execute

To help us get better acquainted with you and your space, we will send you a detailed questionnaire. Along with your answers, we will need measurements of your space (don’t worry we will show you how to do it), photos of each wall and angle of rooms, a list of items you plan to keep in your space, and inspirational photos or links that you think will help us to create your beautiful space. Once payment is received, in about four weeks, you will receive a customized design plan via email that comes with everything you need to create your space.

Decorator Coaching Package Includes:

• Design concept board displaying furniture, flooring, window treatments, accessories and lighting
• Scaled floor plan with furniture placement
• Fabric swatch sheet
• Paint and/or wallpaper swatch sheet
• A complete shopping list of resources for all design elements that can be purchased online or locally
• Detailed step-by-step instructions on how to pull your space together

Decorator Coaching Rates and Payment Options:

Prices for Decorator Coaching services are based on the average cost for the size and scope of the room and total design time.

• Hallways, Entryways, Powder Rooms and Bathrooms: $450
• Dining Rooms, Bedrooms, Studies/Office and Bonus Rooms: $650
• Family Rooms, Living Rooms and Kitchens: $750

We offer a 10% discount for multiple rooms.

Full payment along with your questionnaire, measurements, and photos are required before any work will commence. We accept PayPal and checks. If sending a check, it must clear before the design project can begin.

Decorator Coaching Terms:

All design packages are non-refundable. If you need additional information, an e-consultation or phone consultation is available for $75 per hour with one hour minimum.

If designing multiple rooms, additional time to complete your design package will be necessary.

* Products that are specified in the design package may not be available at time of purchase due to vendor availability. Design Scheme Interiors, LLC is not held accountable for those items but will assist you in finding a suitable substitution.

In 2005, two accomplished designers teamed up to form Design Scheme Interiors, LLC. Since then this dynamic duo has been taking the design world by storm. Together they make up almost 20 years of interior design experience, both residential and commercial. Let’s meet them:

Susan Featherstone-Schemm, Principal

Susan Schemm has a Degree in Interior Design from Bradley Academy, and has over five years of professional interior design experience. She has advanced knowledge in all aspects of interior design; residential, commercial, hospitality, educational and healthcare. She has worked on such projects as the University of Baltimore, Baltimore City Community College, and various same day surgery centers throughout Maryland. It is her goal to help her clients create beautiful yet functional spaces. She artfully combines clients existing furnishings with new items to create a comfortable aesthetically pleasing living atmosphere.

Susan was recently selected as a semi-finalist for HGTV's Design Star interior design reality show!

Sherry Burton-Ways, Principal

Sherry Ways creates Interior Attunement through the use of Personalized Feng Shui, Color Therapy and Holistic Design for both residential and commercial environments. As an intentional decor specialist, her programs and design solutions are focused on creating well being by supporting the intent of the occupants through Intentional Design and Green Design awareness. Her results focus on relieving stress in residential and commercial environments. It is her goal to create customized living spaces that overcome decorating challenges and evokes a feeling of well-being.

Sherry has a B.S. degree and has studied Interior Design a the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Ways holds a Certificate in Color Therapy and is a certified color consultant. Sherry is also a trained Feng Shui Practitioner with expert knowledge of several Feng Shui approaches including East/West system, Compass School, Feng Shui Redesign and others.

Vicki Nichols, Design Associate

Vicki holds a Certificate in Interior Design from Catonsville Community College in Catonsville, MD. She is also a licensed Realtor, and has the ability to design your space ranging from a Modern, Contemporary style to an Abstract or more Traditional theme. Vicki manages her time effectively, is detail-oriented, well organized, and has the talent to create that Spa like atmosphere in your home; or if you desire, a high energy decor for your enjoyment. Vicki has a special love for spaces, whether residential or commercial. She possesses good interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to build trust quickly and easily with Clients. You will love her innovative designs.
